Nicknamed "Iron Mike" and "The Baddest Man on the Planet," Tyson became the youngest heavyweight champion at just 20 years old, when he defeated Trevor Berbick in 1986. Known for his ferocious style, incredible punching power, and aggressive demeanor, Tyson quickly rose to fame, dominating the heavyweight division in the late 1980s.
Throughout his career, Tyson held the WBC, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles simultaneously, making him the undisputed champion. His professional record includes 50 wins (44 by knockout), 6 losses, and 2 no-contests. Among his most notable fights were victories against Larry Holmes, Michael Spinks, and Frank Bruno, as well as his shocking upset loss to Buster Douglas in 1990.
Tyson's life outside the ring has been equally eventful, marked by legal troubles, personal struggles, and periods of redemption. In 1992, he was convicted of rape and served three years in prison. Despite his turbulent past, Tyson made several comebacks to boxing and eventually retired in 2005. He has since reinvented himself as a cultural figure, appearing in films, hosting his podcast, and launching ventures such as Tyson Ranch, a cannabis company.
Tyson remains a polarizing yet captivating figure, celebrated for his achievements in the ring and his journey of transformation and resilience.
